The locale…Brechin gives a superficial impression of a village-like sleepy little town. In some ways this is accurate but in other ways Brechin has the same social and economic problems faced by other Scottish towns. To see a different Brechin then head for Montrose from Brechin town centre, past the City Social Club and keep heading…

The team…Difficult to pinpoint any weaknesses in the Brechin side. They still have a number of ex-Albion players in their line-up. Paul Deas sorts things out in defence. Charlie King and Chris Jackson have the ability to create chances from midfield and Chris Templemen remains one of the best strikers in the league. They almost stayed up last season yet they have added to their squad with the likes of Paul Ritchie and Shaun Dennis

The travel…Easy car journey but difficult by public transport. If going by train then you need to get to Montrose from where take a bus or taxi to Brechin. By car head up the A9 past Perth, through Dundee and on to Brechin total journey time of about one and three quarter hours. Car parking available at the ground but it is one of those first-in, last-out affairs where you can end up deeply frustrated after the game. Safeway’s have signs up sating parking for patrons only. You don’t really want clamped in their car park at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon.

The ground…One of the best. Huge stand behind one goal with excellent views across, not just the pitch, but most of North East Angus. Covered terracing at the other end. Glebe Park remains one ground where you can change ends at half time. There is a main stand down one side of the pitch but it is not for real supporters – only for officials and those who would like to think they are.

Refreshment…Excellent catering from the kiosk under the stand behind the goal. Friendly service and a good selection. If venturing into town there a few places to try.
