Stirling Albion 1 Peterhead 3
Albion's miserable start to the season continued as they suffered a fifth successive league defeat to remain rock bottom of the table.
In a game full of chances, Stirling were the better side in the first half but they defended dreadfully after the break and the Blue Toon ran out worthy winners to record a second successive victory and move seven points clear of their hosts.
Stirling dictated play early on and should have had a penalty after just three minutes when Iain Good handled but referee Brian Winter ignored the appeals.
Paul Mathers had been far the busier of the two keepers, but it was Peterhead who took the lead after 20 minutes when Calvin Shand looped a header beyond 17-year-old Scott Christie from David Hagen's cross.
Christie was only in the line-up because Myles Hogarth had fractured a cheekbone against Morton in midweek and faces a month out, with Binos boss Allan Moore desperate to find an experienced replacement.
Paddy Connolly should have levelled after 26 minutes but fired over the bar. Then Peterhead's Keith Gibson burst through the middle but shot just wide before Albion deservedly scored after 43 minutes, Connolly finding the top corner from the edge of the box.
The impressive Dougie Cameron put the visitors ahead with a low drive after some shoddy defending 11 minutes after half-time. Then Good headed home the third from a Cameron cross in the 63rd minute. By the end it could easily have been five, and Albion now face a massive match at second-bottom Dumbarton next week.
