Four-goal striker Chris Templeman returned to haunt his former club as Brechin moved to second in the table.

Albion went into the game unbeaten in the league since April, but Brechin shattered that record.

Stirling enjoyed plenty of early possession but it was Brechin who took the lead after 34 minutes when Templeman scored from 20 yards.

Templeman added his second five minutes after half-time following a mistake by Chris Scotland, and he completed his hat-trick with a fine goal after 56 minutes.

Stirling got one back on 67 minutes when David O'Brien found the top corner from 20 yards. However, 60 seconds later Templeman set up Kevn Byers for Brechin's fourth goal of the afternoon.

Templeman was denied by the offside flag after 72 minutes, but he grabbed his fourth goal from close range with five minutes left.

The result moves Brechin above Stirling and into second place, although Stranraer continue to lead the way.
