Scottish Cup semi-finalists Gretna continued their charge towards the Second Division title with a five-goal show at a freezing Forthbank.
Albion had won 11 of their previous 13 league games, but were put to the sword by Gretna and the bad news for the Binos is that they are due at Raydale Park for another rearranged fixture on March 14.
Gretna started this game strongly and James Grady and Kenny Deuchar missed good early chances before they took the lead in 32 minutes, just when Stirling were starting to get into the match.
Grady gathered the ball on the left edge of the area and drove forward before planting a precise low shot beyond Myles Hogarth.
Any hopes Stirling had of boosting their play-off hopes were shattered after the interval as Gretna piled on the goals with some clinical finishing, on this show it is no surprise that they have netted in every league match for the last 23 months.
Gavin Skelton grabbed the crucial second goal in 52 minutes with a sweet strike which drifted in off the post, having been set up by Grady's clever back-heel.
Two minutes later the game was over. Steve Tosh floated a free-kick into the area from wide on the right and, when the ball was nodded down, central defender Derek Townsley pounced from close range.
Albion tried to hit back and Paddy Connolly sent an effort just wide after springing the offside trap, then substitute Robert Dunn almost converted a Dougie Wilson cross.
But Gretna, now 11 points clear of Morton at the top, were largely in command and Allan Jenkins cracked home the fourth with a crisp 20-yarder after 72 minutes before Ryan McGuffie made it 5-0 from six yards in 77 minutes.
