Morton underlined their title ambitions with a well-deserved victory over a Stirling side who suffered their first defeat of the season.
The visitors dominated the first half, and although Albion improved after the break Morton richly deserved their second successive league win without losing a goal.
Jim McInally's side dominated from the start, and Peter Weatherson and Andy McLaren came close in the opening 10 minutes before Kevin Finlayson should have done better than shoot wide with just the keeper to beat.
Stirling were hanging on, but the deadlock was eventually broken a minute before half time. James McAlistair's cross from the left was missed by Stewart Devine and Andy McLaren took full advantage to fire a low shot into the corner.
The decisive second goal arrived after 62 minutes when McLaren's quickly taken free- kick released Derek Lilley and the striker found the far corner with a fine finish.
Morton were denied a third goal a few minutes later when Ryan Harding's effort was ruled out for offside.
Albion had beaten Queen of the South in midweek but they struggled to create chances, although Paul Nugent belatedly forced a fine save from David McGurn.
It doesn't get any easier for Stirling who visit title favourites Gretna next week, but Morton proved that they will also be tough to beat this season.
