Victory lifts Stirling gloom
Stirling put an end to a run of seven straight defeats to beat Stenhousemuir 3-1 and lift themselves off the bottom of Scottish Division Two.
Stenhousemuir were closest to scoring in the first half, Ross McMillan heading wide at the far post from a Brown Ferguson corner and Stewart Kean's strike forced a full-stretch save from Callum Reidford to keep the game goalless.
But after the break, Stirling struck with two sucker-punches as Alan Cook turned in the box to rifle past Alistair Brown to give his side a shock lead.
Albion soon doubled their lead after Darren Smith's corner found Gary Thom at the near post. The defender headed home his first goal for the club against his former employers.
The visitors halved the deficit with seven minutes left through Iain Thomson but Joshua Flood's long-range pearler secured Albion's much needed win.
