A hat-trick from Forfar striker Paul Shields helped Forfar to a comprehensive victory over Stirling Albion.
However, the visitors had enough chances in the opening period to bury Forfar before the Shields show kick started.
Albion saw a shot from David O'Brien cleared off the line and Forfar keeper MIchael Brown make several point blank saves before Shields shocked them with the opening goal in the 25th minute, very much against the run of play.
A long goal kick caught out the Albion defence and Shields just beat keeper Myles Hogarth to the ball to knock it into a empty net.
Shields doubled his tally and Forfar's lead in the 32nd minute when Paul Tosh send him through clear on goal and he just managed to force the ball past Hogarth.
The second half belonged to Forfar, however, and Shields completed his hat-trick in the 50th minute when Tosh again set him up, this time with a perfect cross ball for him to score from close range.
Shields turned provider for Forfar's fourth and he set up Tosh for a carbon copy goal before Albion's Mark McNally was sent off for his second booking in10 minutes.
Albion's trialist, Mark Canning, netted a consolation two minutes from time.
