Coult treble sees off Stirling
Lewis Coult's perfect hat-trick inspired Cowdenbeath to a 4-1 win over bottom side Stirling and send them five points clear at the top of the Scottish Second Division.
Cowdenbeath were quick out of the blocks as Coult put them ahead with a low, left-footed strike into the bottom corner in the 12th minute.
But Stirling showed spirit and Sean Dillon headed an Alan Cook corner into the path of Gary Thom to lash home the equaliser before half-time.
Cowdenbeath upped their game after the break and retook the lead when John Armstrong headed across goal to find Coult, who nodded in his ninth of the season.
Coult completed his hat-trick just before the hour with a composed right-footed finish.
Marc McKenzie then grabbed a late fourth and Joshua Flood was sent off for a foul on Kenneth Adamson to complete a miserable day for Stirling.
