#5 – The Covered Terrace, Muirton Park

Muirton Park is a venue that is greatly missed. Scottish grounds of the 70’s all had a different flavour, and Muirton was unlike any other. It was hard to put a finger on what made it different – but there was something special about it.
Albion recorded a few fine results there, and some less memorable moments as well. The month is April 1981 and Albion have not scored since January. We won a penalty against League leaders St. Johnstone, but Graeme Armstrong’s weak effort was easily saved by Saints goalkeeper George Tulloch. Things were so bad in those days, that only a dozen or so Albion fans bothered to watch the game.
