#1 – Shawfield Stadium, Glasgow.

Never the best ground in which to watch football, Shawfield did at least possess a certain unique character. The combination of dog track/speedway and football always seemed to leave Clyde F.C. as the bit-part players of the sporting melange.
Albion’s final visits to the ground which straddled the Glasgow/Lanarkshire border were in 1981/82. We actually played there twice in the space of five weeks. The final fixture involving Albion was a 3-3 draw.
The previous game, on February 27th 1982 may be remembered by John Philliben – he played in a 0-2 defeat, and was sent-ff in the second half.
